How does it work?

Inputs are converted to exact fractions (decimals too), the operation is applied using whole-number arithmetic, and the result is reduced by the greatest common divisor.

Formula

a/b + c/d = (ad + bc) / bd
a/b × c/d = ac / bd
a/b ÷ c/d = ad / bc

Example

3/4 + 2/3 = 9/12 + 8/12 = 17/12 = 1 5/12 ≈ 1.4167.
