What is the Investment Return Calculator?
Investment return measures how much you gained or lost relative to the amount you invested.
How does it work?
Total value = sale or current value + income received. Total return is the percentage gain; annualised return uses the CAGR formula over the holding period.
Formula
Total return = (Value + Income − Invested) ÷ Invested
Annualised = (Total ÷ Invested)^(1/years) − 1
Example
₹2,00,000 invested and now worth ₹2,90,000 after 3 years: 45% total return, 13.19% annualised.
