Salary Increment Calculator
Project your salary several years ahead with a yearly increment and see whether it beats inflation.
What is the Salary Increment Calculator?
An increment is the periodic raise in salary, usually annual. Compounded over years, even modest increments make a large difference.
How does it work?
Each year’s salary is the previous year’s multiplied by (1 + increment%). Real growth adjusts the increment for inflation.
Formula
Salaryₙ = Salary₀ × (1 + i)ⁿ
Real growth = (1 + i) ÷ (1 + inflation) − 1
Example
₹8,00,000 with an 8% yearly increment grows to ₹11,75,462 in 5 years. With 6% inflation the real growth is about 1.89% a year.
Frequently asked questions
What if my increment is lower than inflation?
Your purchasing power falls even though the number goes up. The calculator flags negative real growth.
